As a self-performing contractor working for Ash Grove Cement / Dustex Corporation, Phoenix planned and executed the electrical and instrumentation scopes on the Mercury Recovery System in Durkee, Oregon. Our focal point for electrical started with the new baghouse, where mercury emissions at this lime plant required immediate environmental improvement. The power system necessitated marginal improvements, and the controls necessitated extensive improvements. Phoenix Industrial’s mechanical craftsmen led the effort for precision alignment of the massive, direct-drive ID Fan and motor. Test points for a mercury system must be very precise, and we partnered with the Specialty Vendor in advance of the execution phase. Phoenix Industrial developed and implemented a master construction plan in this remote location, both safely and efficiently.
